Please see the message below from Nexus regarding Doncaster Council's statement on schools reopening (22nd May)
Doncaster Council have released a statement at 15:30 today in which the mayor is recommending Doncaster schools do not re-open from 1 June. Whilst this might be confusing for families, we want to reassure you that we will be continuing with our wider opening plans from 1 June as already communicated. We are continuing to follow the advice of the UK Government. Special schools have remained open throughout the lockdown, and we have only had site closures where low pupil numbers – due to family preference – have meant it’s not been viable to open a school site. From 1 June, we will continue to increase our offer, and this same consistent approach is being taken by all schools in Nexus MAT. Families do not have to send their children to school if that is their preference. The Council still have a legal duty to provide home to school transport regardless, so please contact the School Transport Team at the Council if you have any questions about arrangements for your child.
